IELTS score is valid for 2years from the test date. It is conducted on 48 fixed dates per year. It is mainly focused on overall competency & ability to communicate in an academic environment. There are two tests:
1. Academic: It has been developed if you wish to study at any university or college as an undergraduate or post-graduate in English-speaking countries to gain entry into any professional institutions
2. General : If you opt for General training, you can gain entry into secondary education, a college or Educational training center, or for migration to English-speaking Countries.
IELTS Formats
It contains 40 questions. Each correct answer is given 1 mark. You listen to the recording and answer the questions for 30 minutes. After that you have 10 minutes to transfer your answers to the answer sheet. You only get a chance to listen once to the recording.
1st Task: 20 minutes are allowed to the candidates and they have to write about 150 words.
2nd Task: 40 minutes are allowed to the candidates and they have to write about 250 words.
Task 1: Writing a short letter for a specific purpose.

Task 2 : Writing an essay
In Task 2 of the General Training Writing test, you are asked to write an essay in response to a point of view, an argument, or a problem.
